Cultural Center of Belgrade
Service types:
Description
The Cultural Center of Belgrade was founded in 1957 as a multidisciplinary cultural institution, whose informative and educational role was predominant in the years the post-war development of the new Yugoslav society and the strict political and ideological divisions in the world. Getting news about what was happening "outside" in various fields and in culture, and sending information about yourself to the world was very important. The Cultural Center therefore began as a large and well-equipped public reading room, then an Art Gallery was opened (1961), and soon a cinema (1963), which would then nurture generations of film lovers as the legendary DCC (Cultural Center Hall). From the very beginning, the Center has played an important role in international cooperation as an organizer of numerous presentations of our work in the world and foreign achievements in Belgrade.
