Service types:
Description
Palić Zoo is located in the center of the village of the same name, 6 km from Subotica and 5 km from the E75 motorway connecting Budapest and Belgrade. It was founded in 1949 and today withe covers an area of 10 ha. The basic functions of the Zoo are: zoological, botanical, educational and nature protection. Animal aviaries and spaces for rest and leisure are harmoniously integrated into the garden park. The park grows over 270 species of trees and shrubs, many of which are rare and exotic species, such as Lebanese cedar and giant, redwood or larch. Centuries-old oaks stand out from the domestic species. Conifers grow on the north side of the garden and deciduous trees on the south. Several smaller forest formations were also left. The space is enriched and enlivened by numerous flowers in jardinieres, ponds, fountains and fountains. Visitors can see over 65 species of animals: numerous birds, several species of monkeys, large mammals, but also exotic animals such as snakes and tarantulas. There is a playground and a children's zoo for children, where cubs can be petted. Parents can relax on numerous benches, in the restaurant or buffet. Information boards provide a handful of interesting things, but also warnings about the rules of conduct in the garden. During the year, the Zoo is visited by over 160,000 people.
